I dream of Ganesh.

Ganesh, son of Lord Shiva & Parvati, is devoted to Sri Govinda (Krishna).
Despite what most Hindus think, Ganesh doesn't like being worshipped as though God. Any worship recieved he offers to his Lord, from whom he obtains his power.
The most pleasing offering to Sri Ganesh is remnants of offerings to Govinda, which is known in sanskrit as maha-prasadam. With this in mind, I carried maha-prasadam while travelling and upon seeing statues of Ganesh I respectfully placed Prasadam on his lap.
I did this for maybe 3 weeks.
Then I had this dream.......

I was standing in a city, in front of me was a PORTAL to India. The difference of vibe in landscape was pronounced.
There was a parade on the other side, thousands of Indians lined the street. I intuited it as a parade for Ganesh! Wanting to offer him maha-prasadam from Govindaji, I stepped into the portal with one leg and reached into India just as the palanquin carriers RAN past with him!
I panicked and THREW the sweets to him! The statue came to life catching them, then turned to WAVE at me! =)
Feeling very auspicious, I stepped back from India into the city, feeling the uncanny change in vibe.
Then woke up...

I felt this dream was Ganesh's way of saying thanks.

Brahma Samhita
VERSE
yat-pada-pallava-yugam vinidhaya kumbha-
dvandve pranama-samaye sa ganadhirajah
vighnan vihantum alam asya jagat-trayasya
govindam adi-purusam tam aham bhajami

TRANSLATION
I adore the primeval Lord Govinda, whose lotus feet are always held by Ganesa upon the pair of tumuli protruding from his elephant head in order to obtain power for his function of destroying all the obstacles on the path of progress of the three worlds.

PURPORT
The power of destroying all obstacles to mundane prosperity has been delegated to Ganesa who is the object of worship to those who are eligible to worship him. He has obtained a rank among the five gods as Brahma possessing mundane quality. The self-same Ganesa is a god in possession of delegated power by infusion of the divine power. All his glory rests entirely on the grace of Govinda.

Among what I intuit in relation to these traditions, Ganesh resonates incredible familiarity. The emotional response to images and songs of Ganesh is one of immense gratitude and thankfulness. I liken my relationship to Ganesh in much the same manner as my relationship to Christ and to Gaia. I do not fully understand the connections I feel but I acknowledge and accept them in the Loving comfort they bestow.
