Haha I found something like this the other day. It was a big coffe tub covered in black tape. I was hidden inside a log, had stone and bark all over it. Opened it up and there was a booklet with names and dates in it, along with some coasters, a flashlight, and some other small trinket (I forget what it was). I think these are some sort of thing people track down as a game. They are given clues to find it.

Exactly how you described it!  How much fun is this?  Even more fun that you captured it on vid! What if all games and interactions of the future are like that?  Interactive?  Instead of localized games like tag, even hide-and-go-seek...that kids would just roam around leaving artwork, treasure hunts, inscriptions, etc for someone else at some other time to see?  And of course, it's all channeled messages in some form, and the person that finds it later on will be in the right place at the right time and experience synchronicity.  I love it!
