INVOCATION
oḿ pūrṇam adaḥ pūrṇam idaḿ
pūrṇāt pūrṇam udacyate
pūrṇasya pūrṇam ādāya
pūrṇam evāvaśiṣyate

SYNONYMS
oḿ — the Complete Whole; pūrṇam — perfectly complete; adaḥ — that; pūrṇam — perfectly complete; idam — this phenomenal world; pūrṇāt — from the all-perfect; pūrṇam — complete unit; udacyate — is produced; pūrṇasya — of the Complete Whole; pūrṇam — completely, all; ādāya — having been taken away; pūrṇam — the complete balance; eva — even; avaśiṣyate — is remaining.

TRANSLATION
The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete, and because He is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced of the Complete Whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the Complete Whole, even though so many complete units emanate from Him, He remains the complete balance.

Hello, I'm a monk! Long story short... the philosophy I discovered within ancient sanskrit texts answered most of the important questions in my heart & mind. Within weeks I moved into a temple/ashram and haven't since looked back!
I'm not 'religious', but let's have a look at the word: Re means 'again', as in repeat. Ligio is latin for CONNECT, it's where we get the word LIGAMENT. So the word religion in an objective sense refers to a process which RECONNECTS you with God.
Hare Krishna monks' main method of reconnecting is through sound vibration. Chanting mantras [man= mind; tra= release].
Two things give a mantra potency... empowerment by Source, and the intent or focus with which it is chanted. Pronunciation is important, but ultimately it should come from the heart.
The Hare Krishna mantra beseeches both the divine feminine & masculine aspects of Godhead. Hara refers to the energy of God, the Divine Mother or Goddess. Krishna is the energetic, masculine aspect, the Divine Father. Together, Hara & Krishna are One, yet simultaneously divided as lover & beloved, eternally. In sanskrit this is called acintya-bhedābheda-tattva, inconceivable simultaneous oneness and differentiation.
From the immeasurable love between the Divine Couple, Hara & Krishna, everything else comes into existence, for their relationship forms the archetype for everything and is the reservoir of all pleasure.
Upon chanting the Hare Krishna mantra ones identity as a spark of Godhead gradually re-awakens and one remembers their eternal nature as Their assistant, existing solely to bring Them happiness, and thus rediscovers ever deepening satisfaction in that relationship with Them.
