Hey guys and girls.

Ive recently decided to end a few bad habits.  For a number of years I have smoked 30+ (often more, sometimes less) cigarettes a day and tend to get on the alcohol quite a bit, usually for up to weeks at a time, depending what is going on in my life.

I have decided to eliminate these bad habits from my life.  Just wondering if anyone here has been there done that, and can offer any tips or help, 1 to achieve success, and 2 to make the process easier so as I dont lose my mind in the process.

I am a vegetarian and eat well, not fat and consider myself fit (despite the above vices)

Thank you,

Brett.

Hey brother if anyone knows the woes from addictions it's me....up untill recently I was a regular opiate user(never Heroin) cuz I knew I would like it too much...oxys, vikes, percs, dilaudid, morphine whatever was on the menu.......and also I use chewing tobacco....I can say that the urge will always be present and the object is to replace it with somthing as equally as enjoyable but not destructive like somthing physical.....Iv'e found that the main reason I used to use that stuff was to fill a hole within myself....so try to fill that hole with somthing that mimicks the response you get from cigs....which are a stimulant so I would try running or cycling or SOMTHING physical...I also notice I would use the most when I was "idle"....."Idle hands are the devils workshop ;-)"...i gtg right now my brother but I'll ttyl....Promise.....It comes down to if ya want it to happen it will...Love ya brother..ttys, Jay.
And also GOOD ON YA for starting this......EVERYONE has their "devils"....1st step is acknowledging it's presence....Love ya all :-D <3
Thank you all. The response to my question/outreach has been pretty amazing. I still havent tried to give up cigarettes, I know that I need to get into a good head space first. But yes, lately I have been excercising far more than usual, getting in touch with my bodies natural rythym, and also have been introducing myself to the beautiful benerfits of yoga , with the help of a good friend ;), which is enabling me to touch my core and center my being for the trial ahead. I will let you guys know my progress, but first I just wish to say thank you all for the support, it is a relief to know that I am not alone in experiences to escape. But there comes a time when that need dissolves...

Ive known people to do a 1-2 month juice and water fast. While doing this you will need to take herbs and teas and do all the detoxes for the major organs and colon. Start with the colon first. If it isnt moving nothing else will get detoxed. Go to curezone.com.

I've got some habits I'd like to kick.

1. Biting my nails and biting the inside of my mouth. Basically, stop eating parts of my body.
2. Go lacto-pescatarian (I'm not sure if this is what you'd call it, but basically I'd be eating no animal food but fish and milk).
3. Exercise EVERY day.
4. Get adequate sun exposure (I have a vitamin D deficiancy)
5. Stop smoking (I am not addicted, but I love the taste and sometimes I get a bit carried away...)
6. Stop drinking Diet Coke (I AM addicted. I've been addicted since I was ~7 years old).

the thing that i find amazing of you is the fact that you post this. You try to fill something missing?, Dear,I know you are strong enough to stop all the thing you want to stop!

Yes..you tried to make yourself whole probably just like Jason did, cause you say : depends on whats going on in my life.,but maybe this website can help! you might know what was missing now, and maybe that was the knowledge about what you really are instead of what society wants you to think you are!

Be proud of yourself. The fact that you KNOW all this is good already.

You want it,so I know you can do this

Love to all of you
