There are so many posts and blogs and video clips about ascension out there, from the hugely formal to the bedroom job, that I thought it was about time I threw my two cents worth in and jumped on the bandwagon.
There are channels and teachings and products appertaining to getting in touch with your past lives, your planetary roots, your spirit guides, your Aunt Maude's second cousin's grandmother's shamanistic guide etc etc etc yawn, yawn, yawn.
I'll tell you first what ascension is not.
Ascension is NOT about getting on some spaceship and being taken back to your home planet.

Ascension is NOT a race against time and if we don't ascend we're going to be left behind because someone said that everyone is vacating the planet at exactly the same time.
 
Ascension is NOT going to happen faster for someone who has been important in a previous life.
 
Ascension is NOT designed to get you twisted up in a gigantic knot of anxiety because you don't know what to expect and you're terrified.
 
Ascension is NOT the end of the world as we know it.
 
Ascension is NOT another rapture with God coming down and waving his finger and declaring that some religious group was the right one and get presented with the Holy Grail.
 
Ascension is simple. It is about going back to whence we came. That's it. That's all there is to it. Back to the heart of the Great Central Sun, to Source Energy or any other name you feel comfortable calling it.
I have heard lately people literally having anxiety attacks about this, and it's because of all the hype. Don't get caught up in the bullshit of one person telling you this and another person telling you that. No wonder you're confused!
Think of ascension like this. If you put your hand in the ocean, you can get a drop of the ocean on your finger. That drop has all of the components of the ocean, without exception. You put your hand back into the ocean and you are now a part of the whole again. You are a drop of the ocean of Source Energy. All that is happening is that a big hand is going to lovingly put you back into the ocean of Source. Those drops coming back to Source have information and many life experiences that help Source expand and become greater. That is your contribution. Amazing isn't it?
So relax, and go with the flow. You're not going to miss the ship. You are the ship. Your Mer-Ka-Ba is the ship. The ship of Love and Light, perfectly integrated with the experience of your free-will manifestations over many lifetimes, to bring you to the point that you have now reached.
 
You can never get it wrong, and you can never get it done, as Abraham would say.
You will ascend at exactly the right time. So what if it isn't when the next person will ascend? So what? Remember, time is a 3rd dimensional concept and does not exist in the higher planes so bares no relevance whatsoever.
It's nice to explore and recall what planet we are from, what or who we were in a past life, but at the end of the day, unless it makes a difference to your progress by your ability to recall what you have learned back then, it isn't worth anything. The stepping up of the vibrations is for this purpose, to help all of the puzzle pieces that have been fragmented for so long, come together again, to become the record of that drop of Source.
This is meant to be a joyful process, not a frightening one. Stop resisting and go with the flow. It's all good. There is no lack and there is no wrong.
