Good point Anela. It certainly is a sacrifice but very worth it! All 3 shaman teachers of mine were lesbians, and not because they were serving a gay community, so there might be something in being gay, bi or trans,too in the shamanic world. But also because statistically there are more female shamans than males now in the contemporary world, I think, as women have come more into their own power and become more visible beyond ancient societies. I think it is not just about balancing energies and paying homage to the Divine Feminine, traditionally, for example, but about not allowing your role to define you as much as allowing your spirit to define the role you want to play in your community or culture. Shamans traditionally stand on the fringes, because they unite both spiritual and mundane worlds, so however that manifests is right I guess! Love to you too, Anela.

The Asexuals always get overlooked, have you noticed that? I was Asexual for a year or so, and there was little to nothing about them. I'm glad someone spoke up and added Asexuality. :)
