What are Fairies?

If it were an easy question to answer, fairies would not be the magic, elusive, ethereal beings they are! Experience and belief in fairies vary from person to person and from culture to culture. These days many people do not believe in fairies, or at least feel foolish if they admit that they might-just might- consider that they exist.

It is easy to say that there is no such thing as the fair folk (another name for fairies) when you are in a city street at midday, driving your car, shopping, or talking on the phone. It is very different matter when you are out walking, miles from anywhere, and you find a bank carpeted with cowslips that seem to sing in the sunshine. It is also very different when you are alone on the moors and the mist is falling, or ina wood at midnight with the full moon above you. There you eyes may well be inno doubt-no doubt at all, at least for awhile- that these magical beings are real. When we consider the enchantment of the natural world, we are drawing closer to a definition of fairies. It is best however, to take a cool, dispassionate look at different beliefs about fairies in order to be as clear as possible about what they are and are not.

The logical, "scientific" approach is not to believe in fairies at all, stating that they are a figment of the imagination in the most trivial sense: at best amusing, at worse an ignorant or naive attempt to escape from reality(or, alternatively, a product of too much of the other sort of "spirit"). People who take taht attitude do well to remember that science and logic have not explained everything, and believing that they can and will (note the word "believing") is actually a belief stance in itself. To believe that our current perspectives onthe Universe are some kind of culmination-that we have basically "got it right" and that all we have to do now is to fill in a few blank spaces in order to complete our picture of existence-is arrogant and conceited. It closes our eyes; and it can tempt the fairies to play thier tricks on us.

Some people take on a positive attitude to the imagination, and visualize fairies as symbols that arise from the unconscious mind. From this perspective, fairies are important and call for reflection, although they are no more "real" than last night's dream. (Dreams, of course, beg a whole set of questions themselves, but let us leave them to the one side.)

The first time I saw a faery was in the desert in California. We lived near trees and mountains and she was beautiful and giggling as I watched her. The second time was when I moved back to Sacramento and saw 2 baby fae in bubbles. I didn't realize they were not born with wings and started off in bubbles. Too cute.

In Irish folklore, the Fae are the ancestral spirits of the Tuatha de Danann... They reside in a different dimension than our own and humans cannot see Them in this dimension...

I know I'm of the Elemental World...

and I know I'm a *MUSE*

and I've haven't met

another ~Yet :))

but I know I'm not

the only one.

a Sacred Calling...•.¸¸•´¯`• .¸¸.ஐ

I help hearts to heal. I usher in karmatic renewals and coming full circle in one's life.

To be a *MUSE* is a very Painful & Bleeding path.

~in the beginning...

But it is necessary; for there is no Understanding w/o Compassion. And not much compassion w/o Suffering...

One of the Qualifications to be a *Muse

is to be Beaten with Betrayal.

Because, w/o surviving the intense betrayal of family, trusted friends and random strangers..

You will Never Withstand the Intense Forgiveness

it takes to be a *Muse.

A *Muse isn't a Doormat.. nonono.

She gets stronger as she matures and puts the pieces of her Own Life together. Therefore~ it's a calling you grow into>. just like all the rest, I guess.

As I grew into an understanding of my *Muse-ness,

I began to see repeating patterns in relationships.

And I began to *see* the Spirit in a Man in a deeper different way. It was like I was drawn into their hearts and I could see all the hurts and pain and hopelessness and bitterness that was compacted there over a lifetime.

A Great Love comes over me as I feel the pain and Understand the roots of the Hopelessness in their souls

that they fight. Oh yes.. I Understand it well!

I bring Love Unconditional

I bring Light

I bring Sunshine

I bring Hope

I bring wind beneath their wings

I Bring it.. I offer it.

They Choose...

as we all do.

Surrender

Why, you ask?
If it exhausts me so, why do I continue to serve?
Because there is so much behind the mask,
Of this world, we are not graced by our own nerve,

Of course there are moments and days in time,
When I cry from a collective of emotion overwhelming my existence
It’s just a minor side effect of the prescription I chose,
As a defense in the negativity resistance,

I have sworn to love, to love all that has a soul,
I promised my respect to all that is a natural gift of the source,
As a healer on this path to the love that makes a whole,
I surrender my my troubles and open to the guidance course,

I do not lead on this mission,
for I am lead to every moment by a gentle Faery orb,
I float like a water lily through each transition,
Each lesson I eagerly absorb,

Such a wondrous, magnanimous trip we travel,
So amazing the twist and disastrous turns,
That invoke all to start to unravel,
Only to be awarded for our passion that manically burns,

Each day is my gift to unwrap,
Every new sunrise is mine to show gratitude,
It is the diversion from the vampire’s trap,
It’s my ascension to a whole new latitude.

hello! Are there any Elenari or other types of elves from the stars here? I'm hoping to make some new friends.

I think the fairies, devas, and angels are all related, maybe cousins, but if you are angelic in nature you are defenitely Seelie.
