Well I have 5 tattoos, and still want more! So, my opinion is, go for it.  I got a couple of tattoos done when I was younger, which dont really have any meaning behind them, but which I still dont regret. But my most recent one, which I got done about 3 years ago (so I was almost 40 when I got it done), is a phoenix, which has a great deal of meaning for me.

I got it done after the break up of my previous relationship, when I was told that I would not be able to do it on my own. Well, to me, the phoenix symbolizes rising up from the ashes, a new beginning, a fresh start, and symbolizes strength and longevity. And just recently I got a stone put in the eye of the phoenix, which to me symbolized the illumination of my third eye. So theres a bit of meaning there for me. 

To me tattoos are body art, if done tastefully. But that is just my personal opinion. :)

I have a few.. I have a throat chakra on my upper back/neck and a detication to my mother on my chest. I do not regret it and I want more.. the only bad thing is that if you ever wanted to join the military or some sort of group like that.. they discriminate against you for tattoos which is really annoying.

I want to get a tattoo also but I am not sure what to get and where to get it at. I also don't like needles and pain. I was thinking of maybe some stars on my wrist but I am not totally sure.

I agree with following your heart. Just do whatever you want to do. You can always get it removed even though it isn't an easy process.

I have no tattoos at this time myself, but I am planning to get one hopefully within the next year.  My biggest issue now actually is that i simply can;t find an images that match anything close to what I picture for the design.  My personal stance on tattoo is that as long as they are well considered and done by someone you know will do a good job that you won't regret later.  As for how it relates to ascension, I;m not sure how it could relate anymore than the clothing we choose to wear.  How and why we choose to decorate our own bodies is our choice I believe.  In fact a very well considered and thought out tattoo of particular significance to us can I think be an ever present reminder of our path and who we are in one way or other.  The one i am considering is certainly of great personal significance to me for several reasons.

This is my topic! I'm a nationally published professional tattoo artist of 8 yrs now. One of my absolute favorite things as an artist is the stories that go with every one I do. Tattoos are how ppl chronicle their life experiences. Families, children, lost loved ones, successes, failures, attributes, spirituality, personality, etc. Tattoos are one of the most treasured things to some ppl. And they're the only thing you get to carry with you at all times through this life. If your heart is guiding you to get a tattoo then go for it. You will always treasure it and the experience that it means to you.
