Today my father announced to the family he was becoming a Freemason because someone he works with is one and he seemed glad he was becoming one. He also revealed my great uncle is one and that he NEVER shared what happened...Not even to his wife or family and that his uncle was a man or honor and marality and would never do something wrong. Should I be concerned? He seems t be really happy about it but I have an odd feeling about this.

Suspicions lead to fear ....fear leads to irrationality....irrationality leads to accusations. Don't over think. You'll only do more harm than.......good I suppose

Thank you! It is just that odd things have been going on lately and I never knew this until today.

well JUST to make sure you didn't misunderstand me. I mean: don't give into false fear. No illuminati shit. Besides IF it s true....you wouldn't be able to do anything. If I made a secretive club no one knew about rumors go about. Lies brewing. Chaos ensues and stupidity reigns free. Don't get into the hype of whatever your told to believe. There's a reason con theories never get much press. Let that speak for itself. ///// hes your dad. Be proud. It's not easy to get into the freemasonry.

Well, the only thing I will say about this is, trust your instincts, just because he is becoming a Freemason doesn't automatically make him a bad man, going by that logic we may as well say that every single police officer in the USA of A is a crocked, coke dealing, whore beating, ego maniac, but that's not true, I have seen many valiant officers who have indeed put their life on the line for the life of another, there is lots of conspiracy out there, and lots of dis info as well, truth has to come from your heart, people like to have villains it keeps them from taking responsibility for their own actions or lack thereof, then there are those who think everyone including cookie monster is out to get them. Also judgement and generalization has been part of this society since time immemorial, its what people do, they have a bad experience with someone or something and forever onwards this represents the whole and anything else associated with it. Unless we ourselves see whats going on, we can not judge the whole apple tree because of a few bad apples. We don't really know whats going on behind closed doors, why they choose to keep secrets, because we were not there, all we can do is go within and see what truth resonates and what truth does not,....perhaps it was because in earlier times they were being persecuted by the Roman Emperors and the Catholic priests.

In early days, the Essene community a long with the Templar's taught subjects regarding spirituality, inner wisdom, Alchemy astronomy etc and this was frowned upon by Roman Emperors and the Catholic church, the Templar's were even framed as being part of the Crusades but you wont read this in history books because it does not conform with religious and political institutional thinking. The Templars were for the people and were pioneers of religious tolerance and ancient teachings. They not only were protectors of the grail but also of ancient mysteries who were it not for them and the Essene much of the little bit of knowledge we have today would of been lost and destroyed. They disliked violence and evil in any form. I posted this comment on another group here, the battle at Rochester Castle happened because the awful English tyrant King John was a greedy, blood hungry asshole who sided with the Pope, the Pope gave him his blessing!, as he [King John] went and pillaged and murdered, cutting off hands, feet, tongues and whatever else body part he fancied. His reign would of continued along with his blood hungry ways had the Knights Templar not stepped in. Like the 300 Spartans that went against thousands of Persian, the group that marched onward to Rochester Castle were a mere 100 or 200? in number. With the hope to protect England from King Johns reign and destruction.

Now that's not to say that all the Popes were bad but certainly many of them where just power hungry. The Knights Templar who fought in Rochester Castle were assisted by an excommunicated Pope who went against the Vatican siding with King John. I'm sure I don't have to share why he was excommunicated. He along side the Knights Templar were victorious in removing King John from the throne giving it over to France during this period. The Templar were known for their famous red cross, the Catholic church hired ordinary knights to wear this cross and perform the crusades, you can figure out why yourself I'm sure!, eventually when the Templar's found out about this, they confronted the other so called Templars and shortly after King Phillip in league with the Catholic church, slaughtered and killed thousands of Templars, essentially wiping them out. Same went for most of every who practiced this so called "Hersey" including the Essene, this drove the Essene and Templars underground to continue their teachings in secret gatherings for fear of being killed. Eventually the Essene became known as Masons and then as Freemasons and the Templars became Rosicrucians or other wise known as (Rosy Cross). Its safe to say that there ARE those who have used the teachings to their own advantage, and have made bad choices, but that, sad to say can be found within all walks of life, to think that good and bad only exist in certain groups of people and organizations is an illusion...it can be found everywhere because everyone has the potential to make good and bad choices at any given moments...it's the human experience.

Seek the truth where it is easily found....in your heart. ♥

sigh...just don't give in to conspiracy theories. You want a lighter side of freemasonry? Read BugSport and email the author. Better yet, ask a Freemason. Don't give into an accusatory person who doesn't know shit and history of freemasonry. Don't give the con theorists what they want. You're only playing into their fear hoarding traps. Be smart.

Thank you! My father is a great man and I am sure he would never do anything immoral so that is not a problem but what I worry is that he will be brainwashed basically....

They disliked violence and evil in any form, one of the Knights Templars who fought to protect the people of southern England from a torturous king, said: Do you think it is honorable to kill? its not, but to kill so that others may live, that is a life worth living, It may not be the exact quote but its pretty much it. Well where can I find one?

My father is a FreeMason. FreeMasons as an organization is good. Sometimes they have to weed out bad ones, but that applies to any organization. For instance, they help young people with disabilities. If you have a bad feeling about it, you are probably feeling an uncertainty of whether he would have to confront the bad ones someday or any other entity that would defame the organization and your father, its called defamation of character, its not legal to slander someone, so have faith in God, Jesus Christ, and your father.

1) he won't be "brainwashed", but that's your decision to give into senseless fear. Oh well!

2) one Freemason is the author and cartoonist of the webcomic named BugSport.

Oh ok, thank you!

I was npt trying to give into senseless fear, though. I have spent most of my day trying to find out more information about them and I have heard stories that fit my family and those stories are not exactly positive...Sorry if I gave you that impression but I was only trying to be cautious about this and gather infirmation.
