It is really ironic that I find myself in this situation where I'm actually watching History Channel's show Ancient Aliens. The first episode I watched on TV a few months back and I almost died of laughter. Could aliens really have built Pumapunku? I see how they would come to that conclusion, but personally I felt like they were underestimating ancient Humans. Anyway. How did I go from being an amused skeptic to searching for answers? I'm not sure. I think it had something to do with this website, because suddenly Starpeople are real and I am a Starchild inside this Human body.

So I have been watching as many episodes as I can find on Youtube. Some of it I still scoff at. The Leonardo da Vinci episode in particular. They say he was either abducted by aliens or time traveled to the future and that's how he came up with his creations. Hm. Why can't a genius simply be a genius without involving aliens? The whole premise of the show seems to focus on how ancient Humans were too stupid to figure things out for themselves. I refuse to use the term primitive here, because being "primitive" causes certain biases. I think mankind is far more intelligent than we are given credit for. And at the height of their times, these civilizations were advanced.

Yet some things really do baffle me. How ideas about certain Gods and Goddess are reflected throughout many ancient cultures. And the building of pyramids occurred separately on two different continents. I have to admit the elongated skulls are pretty good evidence for ETs, but it could have been a deformity. What really gets me are the crop circles and the Nazca lines. Why would anyone create something that could only be seen completely from the sky when flight was thousands of years to come? And why do many of these ancient cultures have images of the Grey found in their artwork? Was Human DNA tampered with by ETs so that we would evolve in this way?

Right now I'm riding the fence. I figured this would be an interesting topic to discuss in this community (and no doubt there have been discussions about it before somewhere on this site. Forgive me for being repetitious). I just have to say one final thing...the Ancient Astronaut Theorist with the crazy hair cracks me up. It's kind of hard to take him seriously when his hair is so...well...bodacious.

I think there is certain hard evidence, like cave paintings and illustrations, artifacts, etc. All of that makes sense to me, and on the other hand I also feel they might have jumped to a few conclusions to make the show more interesting. I like the show myself and feel that it's a great series that has probably opened up a lot of people, however, I'm not so sure they have all their facts correct. Thanks for bringing this up - it's a good topic.

Not sure why every single thing the show discusses had to have been aliens. Maybe for marketability reasons since "Ancient Aliens" draws more attention than "Ancient Tech" or "Lost History". We don't know how long ancient man were developing themselves or what spiritual or technological heights they achieved on their own before the fall of Atlantis. The possibility we were given the technology and/or methodology to build things like Pumapunku, Yonaguni, the Pyramids at Giza, etc is plausible though. The accounts of figures like Quetzalcoatl, Viracocha, Pahana, appear to be good examples of off-worlders living amongst us to to help us advance at certain times. All in all it's a good series if one doesn't abandon critical thinking while viewing as there are times where they are clearly reaching. It is good that it's exposing people to anomalies that don't fit the consensus version of history, albeit in a limited context. Also, let's not forget Tsoukalos...

Sorry, just one more. You can't talk about this show without bringing up Tsoukalos!

Well I be damned. He really is knowledgeable? He makes me giggle. I guess I shouldn't judge him based on the way he wears his hair. I think its funny that, over the past two days I've watched maybe about 15 episodes and I STILL don't remember Tsoukalos' name. I just dubbed him "The Crazy Hair Guy".

I'm also glad that something alternative is being viewed by the masses. Maybe it can be seen as a gentle way to ease our Starbrothers and Starsisters back into Human society. But I DO draw the line at Leonardo da Vinci being abducted or time travel, and I still laugh at the thought of Bigfoot having something to do with aliens. My take on Bigfoot? A rare humanoid animal that hides in dense places. I'll watch the episode anyway, and expect to have a lot of giggles during it.

The show has its quirks but overall I like it. And YES I totally agree that you need to maintain critical thinking while watching it. As with anything, don't take information without asking questions.

I just watched the Occult episode and found it very disturbing. Applewhite claimed to be getting messages from aliens and believed himself to be an alien inside a Human body. What kind of image does this set up for the rest of us? Just like the shooter in Colorado, he was being treated for schizophrenia. People already believe schizophrenics are dangerous, and this incident gives them a worse name (I'm Schizophrenic so this is kind of a personal issue). Just some thoughts. Thanks for the awesome responses and the memes! They cracked me up.

I've noticed that every season gets worse and worse (meaning less cruical info). I think they covered most of the current evidence of ancient alien presence in season 1,2 and partially three. But it seems like this current one is an attempt to "milk the cow" as much as they can... a lot of old material rehashed etc. Unless we find some new archeological stuff (like "Gobekli Tepe" in Turkey) the show's not gonna last very long, which is sad... Because I love that Giorgio Tsoukalos guy.

Yes, like someone else above said. He is a good hearted knowledgeable dude! he proved that to me on both of his appearances on the Joe Rogan Podcast.

:) So glad to see people sticking up for Tsoukalos! My heart has changed for him. I guess intelligent people are entitled to having crazy hair. ;)

I feel the same way about the show Remy. There's only so far you can go with the material they are working with.

It was so funny. I was telling my 17 year old brother about the show and he said it was lame. So I told him about the Nazca lines, about the pyramids and stuff like that and he thought it was all BS. So I told him about their theories on Leonardo da Vinci and he was like, "Yeah, I could see that." And I was like WTF?! Of everything I had just told him, that one was the most realistic in his eyes. I almost fell off my bed laughing. :)

Have seen randomly around three episodes. Giorgio is awesome :)

But I havent seen any real evidence, almost all can be easily explained.

For example we have quite exact excavated data, which shows how many ppl build pyramids and how the were payed. There were thousands workers and each got daily pay of 3,7 litres of beer :)

No ETs mentioned getting some beer too :)

And you can see exactly how pyramids evolved over time, from steps model to big triangle model.

Hahaha, your brother had ME laugh right now ^^ because that Da Vinci Episode was the most ridiculous thing i've seen in a long time. The mirror image grey in the panting had me crackin for like 10 minutes XD  ... and that Cave... lol seriously

I think there is a little truth in everything you see obviously this show is geared up to prove the theory of ancient aliens so it's a little biased but that doesn't mean there isn't truth in it too.  I like to watch stuff like this to see what sticks in my mind as true.  I also find pyramids, elongated skulls & the Nazca pretty good evidence of aliens.  Here's a link you can watch all the ancient aliens on http://watchseries.eu/search/ancient%20aliens

I also find the guidestones in Georgia really freaky too. l n l xx

OMFG! Thank you for the link! AND yay for more Girogio memes! They crack me up!

And I totally agree. The da Vinci episode was just total BS. They must be running out of material to think up something like that. I wonder if I went to a cave if I would emerge a genius. There could be something to this... ;)

Laugh at his hair all you want the fact of the matter is we have no clue what happen in Ancient History! Archaeologists and scientist don't have answers just guesses! Remember these people are paid to come up with results not facts!  All over the world there are unexplained sites and writings but over time humanity lost the knowledge! Ancient Sumerian writings, Civilizations with extensive knowledge of the Solar system and Mythology are all clues to what really happen! Do your homework and you will find out how stupid humanity really is when it comes to Ancient History!  Thank god for shows like Ancient Aliens at least they are talking about it opening the eyes of the blind! We can't recreate Puma Pumku with todays tech how was it done 10,000 years ago?

Good points Pat and Chadee. I agree. There is something about Puma Pumku that just blows the mind. How did they do it? The episode I watched that focused on Puma Pumpku was the first episode I ever saw. And I laughed. But since then I revisited it and I'm like, "Hmmm. How DID they do it?" They obviously didn't have technology that could make such architecture. This is honestly my favorite show right now. It even replaced Fringe, which says something because I looovvveee Fringe. But Ancient Aliens makes me question how much we know about our ancestors and whether or not there's some validity to their theories. And you know, I think there is. But like it was suggested, do your own homework.

Thank you for the book reference Meyer! And LOL about his hair. I like people who have theories but don't claim to have answers. I'm more willing to believe someone like that. I don't listen to what the government says any more. I think most people in our Government (in the US) is full of crooks, white collar crime and many many broken promises. Though Obama did go through with repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell, that was pretty awesome. I have a friend who's in a relationship with a soldier, I hope things are easier for them now without the fear of getting discharged from the military. Wow, I got distracted. Where was I...? Right. Government and schools don't inform us properly. And probably distort our history. They teach by the book and only information on big tests, not the neat side information.

To me Ancient Astronaut Theory is completely believable. Though I refuse to believe in the da Vinci episode. Some people are just rare geniuses. I think Humanity is older than we realize. Which is also part of the theory. It just makes sense to me. Well, now I feel inspired to go watch an episode. Thanks for the interesting responses people!
